About Us

Plug-In To Nature strives to provide a community resource that inspires the development of outdoor and environmental relationships by encouraging the public support of local ecological organizations in Northeast Indiana.

Outdoor education begins at home. Before children can become absorbed socially in the outside world they learn to engage with the surrounding environment using their senses. Although this connection starts at infancy, it is vital these senses and natural learning occurrences continue through adulthood.   These experiences provide enriching skills of leadership and cognitive interaction.  Environmental education activities benefit all ages physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Simply picking up liter, studying bugs, viewing birds, or even a half hour guided hike or bicycle journey through a natural area relieves stress and encourages people to strengthen their relationship with these eco-treasures of Indiana.

Outdoor adventure starts with creativity and inspiration. Providing these key ingredients requires an army of organizations.  Northeast Indiana is very fortunate to have an abundance of organizations that care about our environment and provide educational programs to the public.

Plug-In To Nature would like to encourage all residents to take part in a hands-on, memorable, real world experience by exploring the natural areas of Northeast Indiana.  What better way to do this then by providing an online eco-hub of information?
